Softball Recap: Fort Zumwalt East Lions vs. Clayton Greyhounds

Fort Zumwalt East's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Clayton Greyhounds onto the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Maria Huckstep and Ava McClellan made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Huckstep pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, McClellan pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. At bat, Huckstep scored a run while going 2-for-3, while McClellan scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Isabella Pierce was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Carter, who went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
