Basketball Recap: Westhope/Newburg Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Westhope/Newburg entered their tilt with Towner-Granville-Upham on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Towner-Granville-Upham Titans with a sharp 70-45 win. With the Sioux ahead 34-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Westhope/Newburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Walker Braaten out in front who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Braaten is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braden Bailey, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points and five assists.

Westhope/Newburg's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Towner-Granville-Upham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Westhope/Newburg will welcome Bishop Ryan at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Towner-Granville-Upham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
