Basketball Recap: Jamestown Red & Green vs. Salamanca Warriors
Jamestown won the last time they faced Salamanca and things went their way on Friday too. The Jamestown Red & Green enjoyed a cozy 42-27 victory over the Salamanca Warriors. The team ran away with 35 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Despite the loss, Salamanca still got an impressive performance from Leilene Mccomber, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Mccomber is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Crouse, who posted two points and seven rebounds.
The victory got Jamestown back to even at 3-3. As for Salamanca, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
Jamestown will head out on the road to take on Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Salamanca, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olean at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Salamanca is facing Olean at the right time seeing as Olean is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
