Baseball Recap: Madison's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Madison's win against Dirigo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Cougars on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Griffin Dickey, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Dirigo off the board.

At the plate, Madison's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Estes, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The victory (which was Madison's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dirigo, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
