Gulf Coast proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Aubrey Rogers Patriots 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-18 back in February.

Taylor Stalling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hannah Rearden, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Gulf Coast is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Aubrey Rogers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Gulf Coast and Aubrey Rogers will both be playing Schoolhouse Prep the next time they take the field. The Sharks will head out to face the Wolfpack at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
