Basketball Game Preview: Virginia High Bearcats vs. Floyd County Buffaloes

The Virginia High Bearcats will venture away from home to face off against the Floyd County Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Virginia High has given up an average of 57.4 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Virginia High heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Graham. The Bearcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Floyd County waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 73-68 W against the Governors.

Floyd County's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. As for Virginia High, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-7.

Virginia High came up short against Floyd County when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 59-52. Can Virginia High avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
