Softball Game Preview: Mount de Sales Academy Sailors vs. Mercy Magic

Mount de Sales Academy has gone a perfect 7-0 against Mercy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Mount de Sales Academy will head out to challenge Mercy at 4:00 p.m. Mount de Sales Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Reese Barchanowicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olivia Ross was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Olivia Berger was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Mercy lost 11-5 to John Carroll on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Magic in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Mercy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything went Mount de Sales Academy's way against Mercy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Mount de Sales Academy made off with a 16-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount de Sales Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
