Basketball Game Preview: Chaminade-Madonna Lions vs. Hallandale Chargers

The Chaminade-Madonna Lions will head out to square off against the Hallandale Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Chaminade-Madonna took on Coral Glades on Wednesday. Chaminade-Madonna put the hurt on Coral Glades with a sharp 51-29 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Chaminade-Madonna found their leader in freshman Nylah Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Lewis. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine D Horne, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 23 rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hallandale). They blew past Pompano Beach, posting a 57-22 victory. The Chargers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Chaminade-Madonna has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Hallandale, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.

Chaminade-Madonna took a serious blow against Hallandale when the teams last played back in December of 2016, falling 62-5. Can Chaminade-Madonna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
