Baseball Recap: Marmion Victorious

While Marmion's victory against De La Salle wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cadets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Meteors 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cadets have posted since March 27th.

Eddie Morvice looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Tulley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trajan Storto-Featherson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Marmion and bumps their season record up to 10-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for De La Salle, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Marmion will challenge Providence Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for De La Salle, they will venture away from home to square off against DePaul College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
