Melvindale won the last time they faced Canton Preparatory and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 14-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Melvindale pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canton Preparatory, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Melvindale will take on Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Canton Preparatory, they will challenge Hope Of Detroit Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
