Basketball Recap: West Monroe Makes It Six in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alexandria, West Monroe was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Ouachita Parish Lions 66-64. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rebels' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Lions are ranked 20th).

West Monroe's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Ouachita Parish, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-8.

West Monroe will face off against Neville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Monroe is facing Neville at the right time seeing as Neville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ouachita Parish, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ouachita Parish Lions face off against the Ruston Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ruston will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ouachita Parish surely won't give up without a fight.
