Baseball Game Preview: Peninsula Catholic Knights vs. Christchurch School Seahorses

The Peninsula Catholic Knights will face off against the Christchurch School Seahorses at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Peninsula Catholic is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of TEACH Homeschool.

Meanwhile, Christchurch School suffered their closest loss since May 9, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Grace Christian School by a score of 5-3. The Seahorses have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peyton West was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. West was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Trey Fitchett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Baylen Miller was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Christchurch School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Peninsula Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Peninsula Catholic beat Christchurch School 8-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seahorses turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
