Soccer Game Preview: Archbishop Molloy vs. St. Francis Prep

The Archbishop Molloy Stanners will head out to face off against the St. Francis Prep Terriers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Archbishop Molloy is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They had just enough and edged out Monsignor Farrell 3-2 back in September. The win made it back-to-back victories for Archbishop Molloy.

Meanwhile, St. Francis Prep's game on Sunday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They never let St. Anthony's get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given St. Francis Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while St. Anthony's are ranked 18th).

St. Francis Prep was without their leading scorer, Julian Dos santos, in Sunday's match. With Dos santos sitting this one out, Kosta Plioutas got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 43.6).

St. Francis Prep's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Archbishop Molloy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Archbishop Molloy came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Francis Prep in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stanners since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
