Basketball Recap: Hatch Valley Takes a Loss

Hatch Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Socorro Warriors. The Bears lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 70-28 score last time.

Socorro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaquavis Brawley, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Izaiah Silva, who put up ten points.

Hatch Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Socorro, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16.

Hatch Valley has already played their next contest, a 55-31 defeat against Hot Springs on the 6th. As for Socorro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-65 loss against Cobre on the 6th.
