Softball Recap: Bergenfield Comes Up Short

Bergenfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Mary Gaels. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Gaels when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bergenfield's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for St. Mary, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Bergenfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-0 win against Dwight Morrow on the 19th. St. Mary has also already played their next game (against Pope John XXIII), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
