Baseball Recap: Landstown Victorious

Landstown won the last time they faced Kellam and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Cam Tellefsen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tellefsen was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyle Flora, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Landstown: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethyn Edwards, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Landstown's record now sits at 9-3. As for Kellam, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Landstown and Kellam should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Eagles will challenge Tallwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (25 vs. 219). Meanwhile, Kellam (ranked 73rd) will meet Green Run (ranked 310th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
