Softball Game Preview: Central Catholic Rams vs. Barlow Bruins

For the second straight game, Central Catholic will face off against Barlow. The Rams will challenge the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Catholic is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Central Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Barlow on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 6-5.

For Barlow's part, Kaylee Pokorny 2025 spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up 14 Ks. Pokorny 2025 has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Charliann Renner 2025 was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Emmy Mayfield 2025 also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Barlow's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
