Volleyball Recap: Bayard Comes Up Short at Home Against Bridgeport

Bayard unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Bridgeport Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-15.

Tayten Wyckoff paced Bayard's offense, picking up three kills. Wyckoff got some help from Alexi Nesbitt and her five assists. Olivia Plasencio controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bridgeport found their leader in sophomore Claire Eckhardt, who had four digs and three aces.

Looking ahead, Bayard will challenge Creek Valley on Tuesday. As for Bridgeport, they will take on Gordon-Rushville on Tuesday.
