Baseball Recap: Timberland Falls to Goose Creek in First Game of Season

Timberland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Goose Creek Gators on Friday, falling 15-5. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Hugh Mitchum was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberland is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Hilton Head Island at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Goose Creek, they will take on Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
