Volleyball Recap: Innovation Academy Takes a Loss

Innovation Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneer Charter School of Science Panthers. The Red Tailed Hawk were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Innovation Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Olivia Costa, who had 24 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Hanaan Minyaoui was another key player, getting six digs and three aces.

Innovation Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Innovation Academy will welcome Mystic Valley Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science, they will host Salem Academy Charter at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
