Marion had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Goreville Blackcats. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Marion not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Goreville between 19 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.

Marion now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Goreville, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.

Marion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Murphysboro on the 4th. As for Goreville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Vienna on the 4th.
