Southwest faced Cardinal Gibbons in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chiefs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The victory didn't come easy: Cardinal Gibbons scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 26-24.

Juanmarco Diaz paced Southwest's offense, picking up 14 kills. Diaz got some help from Kevin Munoz and his 14 assists. Julian Garcia and Shia Decastro kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Southwest's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
