Basketball Game Preview: Johnston Panthers vs. Burrillville Broncos

The Johnston Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Burrillville Broncos at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Johnston has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Burrillville will arrive with three straight victories.

On Wednesday, Johnston had to suffer through a 77-40 loss at the hands of Coventry.

Meanwhile, Burrillville beat Woonsocket 73-62 on Wednesday.

Johnston better keep an eye on Logan Gelinas. He was instrumental in Burrillville's win, going 10 for 13 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those 26 points gave Gelinas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Zanella, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points.

Burrillville's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Johnston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Johnston came up short against Burrillville when the teams last played back in February, falling 64-54. Thankfully for Johnston, Nolan Serafin (who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 15 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
