Softball Recap: Crosby's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Crosby unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bridge City Cardinals. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Mackenzie Ross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Brooke Henderson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Crosby's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Bridge City, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crosby will square off against West Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridge City, they will challenge Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Bridge City has won three straight at home, while Little Cypress-Mauriceville won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
