Brookeland extended their postseason success on Friday against Chester. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the ninth in a row for Brookeland, bringing their record up to 19-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-8-1.

Coming up, Brookeland will take on Avalon on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
