Basketball Game Preview: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. Malone Tigers

The Liberty County Bulldogs will challenge the Malone Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Liberty County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Liberty County can't be too worried about heading out to take on Malone: they just beat Aucilla Christian at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Everything went Liberty County's way against Aucilla Christian on Tuesday as Liberty County made off with a 79-58 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Malone lost to Graceville on the road by a 52-34 margin on Monday.

Liberty County will have to contain Jamerious Sims as he made an impact in Malone's last game. He posted eight points and 12 rebounds. Sims has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Everett Welch, who put up four points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Liberty County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Malone, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Liberty County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Malone when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Welch, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
