Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. John Glenn Little Muskies

The Sheridan Generals will square off against the John Glenn Little Muskies at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Sheridan has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while John Glenn will come in with seven straight wins.

Last Saturday, Sheridan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Northridge.

Meanwhile, John Glenn hadn't done well against Tri-Valley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. John Glenn managed a 65-60 victory over Tri-Valley. Given the Little Muskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Scotties are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sheridan better keep an eye on Stehl Bates. He was instrumental in John Glenn's win, going 11 of 21 en route to 31 points along with six boards and three steals. Those 31 points gave Bates a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Davis, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

John Glenn's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.7 points. As for Sheridan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Sheridan didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against John Glenn in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory.
