Volleyball Preview: Sumter County Panthers vs. Columbus Blue Devils

Sumter County hasn't had much luck against Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Sumter County Panthers will head out to challenge the Columbus Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sumter County comes in on five and Columbus on three.

Last Tuesday, Sumter County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Spencer 3-2.

Sumter County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 22-25, 25-12, 27-25, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Columbus made easy work of Carver on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Sumter County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Columbus, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-20.
