Softball Recap: Shelby Takes a Loss

Shelby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-0 to the Cherryville Ironmen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Lions of the 15-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Shelby's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cherryville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Coming up, Shelby will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lincolnton at 5:00 p.m. Shelby has given up an average of 18.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Cherryville, they will head out on the road to challenge Stuart W. Cramer at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
