Softball Recap: Johnson City Gets the Win

The Johnson City Wildcats beat the Whitney Point Eagles 6-1 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Juliana Berru-Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caitlin Moses, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Spangenberg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Johnson City's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Whitney Point, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Johnson City will challenge Owego Free Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Whitney Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
