Baseball Recap: Keystone Panthers vs. Redbank Valley Bulldogs

Keystone had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it five. They lost 13-2 to the Redbank Valley Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Wednesday.

Keystone saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talon Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Wilson has hit this season. Another was Aidan Tharan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

As for Redbank Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Redbank Valley's side, Jaxon Huffman was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Huffman has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Carson Gould was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Redbank Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Wagner, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Redbank Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Karns City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.9, the Gremlins 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
