Aptos is 10-0 against Soquel since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Aptos Mariners will venture away from home to face off against the Soquel Knights at 7:30 p.m. Aptos has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three matches.

Last Friday, Aptos made easy work of San Lorenzo Valley and carried off a 59-39 win. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Soquel fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Santa Cruz on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Cardinals 58-54. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Aptos will have to contain Nolen Westfall as he made an impact in Soquel's last game. He shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. Westfall is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nico Ramirez, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Soquel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Soquel's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Aptos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Aptos skirted past Soquel 73-71 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Aptos repeat their success, or does Soquel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
