Navasota took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hempstead Bobcats. That's more bragging rights for the Rattlers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Navasota won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15.

Hempstead dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Navasota wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Somerville on the 14th. As for Hempstead, they will square off against Hearne at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
