Softball Recap: Providence Catholic Takes a Loss

Providence Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Saint Mary's Hall on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Barons by a score of 5-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Providence Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season.

Saint Mary's Hall will challenge San Antonio Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Barons' game: after the Barons faces off against Holy Cross, they'll take on Providence Catholic again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
