Basketball Recap: Tallassee Takes a Loss

Tallassee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 76-44 loss at the hands of the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Tallassee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rowen Thornton, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Compton, who had 12 points.

Leading Booker T. Washington to victory were Marquez Daniel and Kenneth Moore. Daniel dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Moore dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Daniel a new career-high in assists (four). Kameron Tatum was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and three blocks.

Tallassee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Booker T. Washington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Booker T. Washington beat Tallassee by a score of 81-40 on Friday.
