Basketball Recap: Olathe East Takes a Loss

Olathe East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 63-30 loss at the hands of the Colby Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Eagles are ranked sixth).

Olathe East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Colby, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Olathe East Hawks take on the Junction City/St. Xavier Bluejays on Tuesday. Olathe East is facing Junction City/St. Xavier at the right time seeing as Junction City/St. Xavier is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Colby, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Beloit on the 24th.
