Recap: Farrell Steelers vs. Bishop Canevin Crusaders
If the Farrell Steelers were riding high off their 83-28 takedown of the Sharpsville Blue Devils on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Farrell fell 80-69 to Bishop Canevin on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Farrell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julius Phillips Jr. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontaye Bell, who scored 14 points.
Farrell's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Bishop Canevin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farrell will take on Mercer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mercer is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Bishop Canevin and Eden Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eden Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
