Basketball Recap: Civic Memorial Wins Going Away Against Riverview Gardens

Civic Memorial saw some tournament action on Saturday. They ended the year with a bang, routing the Riverview Gardens Rams 67-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

August Frankford was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 12 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jack Piening, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Civic Memorial now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Riverview Gardens, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Civic Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-49 win against Freeburg on the 29th. As for Riverview Gardens, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-46 victory against Marquette Catholic on the 29th.
