Basketball Recap: Live Oak Takes a Loss

Live Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oroville Tigers. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Kevin Taylor was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds for Oroville. Taylor's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Marlon Smith was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Live Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Oroville, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

Live Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-39 loss against Corning on the 28th. As for Oroville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-33 defeat against Gridley on the 28th.
