Baseball Recap: Miami Wardogs vs. Grove Ridgerunners
Miami was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grove Ridgerunners. That's two games in a row now that the Wardogs have lost by exactly five runs.
Miami saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Blundell, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another was Sam Lillard, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Even though they lost, Miami was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Miami's record now sits at 1-3. As for Grove, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Coming up, Miami will head out on the road to challenge Bishop McGuinness at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grove, they will challenge Quapaw at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Quapaw is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
