Softball Recap: Hickory Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Hickory came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Lakeland Cavaliers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Hickory pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory will host Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakeland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kecoughtan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests.
