Basketball Recap: Luke Kreger Key Part of a Team Effort in Mountie Win

North Penn-Liberty's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Cowanesque Valley Indians 75-54. This was payback for the Mountie, who suffered a 65-60 defeat the last time these two teams met.

North Penn-Liberty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Kreger, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Kreger has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evan Mctish, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

North Penn-Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

North Penn-Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Cowanesque Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

North Penn-Liberty will head out to square off against Benton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cowanesque Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wyalusing Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th.
