Softball Recap: Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Webber hit Notre Dame with a four-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Fighting Irish fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Olivia Gillard and Clairissa Milliman did some serious damage despite the final result: Gillard went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Milliman went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Notre Dame now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Aquinas Institute at 4:30 p.m. on May 6. As for Webber, they will head out to take on Elba at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
