Baseball Game Recap: Morris Bulldogs vs. Kennedy Knights

Morris managed to slip by Kennedy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-1 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Esmil Collado was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Morris is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Morris and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for Kennedy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Morris will square off against Walton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kennedy, they will challenge Monroe Campus at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
