Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Garfield G-Men, falling 50-13. The Leopards were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.

Mandy Cardinal continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Garfield, going 7 for 17 on her way to 18 points. Cardinal's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylene Mcmayon, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Garfield, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Liberty will take on South Range in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Garfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-23 win against Badger on the 21st.
