Softball Recap: Weiser Has No Trouble Against Preston

Weiser saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Preston Indians. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Bennett Torres, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jordan Stromberg, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Weiser hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.

Weiser pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Preston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Weiser wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 win against Ridgevue on the 22nd. As for Preston, they have also already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Homedale on the 22nd.
