Softball Game Preview: Veterans Memorial Chargers vs. Calallen Wildcats

The Veterans Memorial Chargers will venture away from home to take on the Calallen Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Veterans Memorial has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Veterans Memorial came up short against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo on Tuesday, falling 13-5. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Itzel Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Calallen beat San Benito 7-2 on Tuesday.

Veterans Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Calallen, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
