Softball Recap: Taylor County Extends Winning Streak to Three

The matchup between Taylor County and Washington County on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cardinals blew past the Commanders 17-2. Considering the Cardinals have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Taylor County's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Washington County, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Taylor County will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 2.5, the Bulldogs 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Washington County, they will head out to face off against Metcalfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
