Basketball Recap: Locust Grove Comes Up Short

Locust Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Woodland Wolfpack 50-22. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 91st).

Woodland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from London Loyal, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Loyal also racked up three steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jada Little, who posted 14 points along with five assists and four steals.

Locust Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Woodland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

Locust Grove has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Eagle's Landing on the 1st. As for Woodland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-37 victory against Union Grove on the 1st.
