Baseball Recap: Prairie's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Prairie won the last time they faced Peetz and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs blew past the Bulldogs 15-5. Considering the Mustangs have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brennon Bringelson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Prairie's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Beau Carlson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Prairie, bringing their record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Peetz, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie will challenge Holyoke at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Peetz, they will take on Caliche on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
